O-China Business Exchange operates as a division under ACICEC

American Chinese International Cultural Exchange Council
(ACICEC)

ACICEC was established in 2012 by Teresa Lai in an effort to help foster cultural exchange and mutual understanding between USA and China.

We have organized, amongst others, foreign student exchange summer camps, traditional Chinese arts exhibitions, as well as delegations of US officials to multi-city tours around China, etc.

We are committed to provide opportunities for meaningful engagements and help all parties form mutually beneficial relationships — some such connections we helped build even materialized into government-level cooperation through goodwill from all sides.

As such, O-China was established under ACICEC to extend our resources into the business arena in hope of building more bridges and fruitful partnerships for all.

Redwood City and Millbrae Friendship Cities

Redwood City and Millbrae Friendship Cities

►In 2015, ACICEC helped facilitate a Friendship City relationship between Redwood City and Qingyuan (a city north of Guangzhou), furthering Redwood City's ties to the Chinese region booming with tech and business. (Redwood City had already been a Sister City of Zhuhai, south of Guangzhou, since 1992.)

►Also in 2015, ACICEC helped facilitate a Friendship City relationship between Millbrae and Leng Shuijiang, a city in the Hunan province of China. Millbrae later went on to become Sister Cities with Dongguan, China, in 2020.

Friendship City agreements facilitated by ACICEC

Teresa founded ACICEC in 2012 to fill a gap for local Bay Area officials or NGOs in making meaningful engagements with a rising China. In terms of cultural exchange, her efforts had achieved amazing results. Now, Teresa is expanding her vision of building bridges and thriving together into the business sector — as such, O-China Business Exchange was established as a division under ACICEC.
